1. Information We Collect
We collect account information you provide, including your email and display name; optional role and interview-target context; and data created when you use the product, including responses, grader output, completed session records, feedback, and outcomes you choose to report. We may also collect device, browser, IP, product-usage, and error-diagnostic data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this information to authenticate your account, run interview practice, generate and save feedback, restore your history across devices, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.
3. AI Processing
Your practice responses and relevant interview context are sent to OpenAI to generate questions, grading, and feedback. OpenAI’s use and retention of that content depends on the API account and project configuration used by TechRound. Do not submit sensitive, confidential, or regulated information in a practice response. See OpenAI’s API data controls for the provider’s current rules.
4. Data Storage & Security
Canonical account, session, response, grading, preference, and outcome records may be stored in TechRound’s database. Limited preferences, drafts, and caches may also be stored on your device. Passwords are stored as password hashes rather than readable passwords, and authentication uses httpOnly cookies. We use access controls, request limits, and security headers, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
5. Service Providers
Data may be processed by providers configured for the local stack, including OpenAI for AI processing, database or hosting infrastructure, PostHog for product analytics, and Sentry for error diagnostics. Their processing is governed by their terms and the operator’s configuration.
6. Your Choices
You can download a JSON copy of your account data or delete your account from Profile. The download excludes password hashes and authentication tokens. You can also clear device-stored data through your browser or contact the workspace operator to request correction. Some limited records may be retained when required for security or legal obligations.
